Earnshaw State College was established 2003 through the merger of Nudgee State School and Banyo State High School. The college, which is on one campus, comprises three sub-schools: Junior School (Prep to Year 5), Middle School (Year 6 to Year 9) and Senior School (Year 10 to Year 12) and has a current enrolment of approximately 750 students.

The college is situated in the Brisbane suburb of Banyo and serves the immediate community of Banyo, Nudgee and Nudgee Beach. The college forms part of an education precinct which includes early childhood centres and the Australian Catholic University (McCauley Campus).

Students are drawn from a broad range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. A significant number of students follow multiple generations of relatives who attended both Nudgee State School and Banyo State High School.

College facilities are excellent with a mix of new and newly refurbished buildings set in 8 hectares of well developed grounds and sporting fields. The college has its own heated 25 metre pool and newly completed sports hall, both of which are also accessed by the community.
